FionaMcKerrowInterview with Fiona McKerrow, Global Internal Communications Manager Employer Branding, Syngenta International

By Joanna Rusin-Rohrig, Regional Marketing Manager for Central Europe

1. How do you define your employer brand in one or two words?
Our work matters.

2. What differentiates you from your competitors?
We focus on two key areas:  1) the opportunities for growth as an individual and 2) being part of a growing industry. Another aspect is the contribution that we, at Syngenta, are making towards worldwide agricultural challenges and the involvement of each employee to face these challenges and live towards our purpose: “Bringing plant potential to life”. I think the balance between the organisation and the individual is strong and unique.

3. What are you working on right now?
Finalising the application of our EVP to all touch points within the employee journey.

4. What new initiatives have you developed?
We have been working a lot on ‘HR best practices’ and making sure that it reflects the principles of our EVP: through leadership actions and behaviours, the development of our HR professionals, and supporting the processes that we have in place.

5. How does the talent market perceive you as an employer?
In markets where we are known, we are well perceived. Market recognition is increasing in established and new markets, supported by our recruitment activities and increased corporate branding activities.
