A practical guide to Employer Branding

Sustainable Employer Branding-197x300“Sustainable Employer Branding” is a new practical guide for all who work with employer branding. The book highlights the importance of employer branding for the Generation Y and gives you practical tips on how companies can work with employer branding.

The book is co-written by Anders Parment, strategic consultant and researcher at the Stockholm School of Economics and UNIVERSUM employer branding expert Anna Dyhre. “Sustainable Employer Branding” discusses employer branding in marketing terms, which makes the subject accessible not only for those working in HR but also for those working with communications and marketing.

Employer branding highlights the importance of taking the hiring process very seriously, whether you work in an attractive and well-respected organisation, or if you work in an organisation with a weak brand, bad location and a large proportion of short-term contracts. All employers, regardless of size, location and structure, have an employer brand, but many organisations lack a strategy for their employer branding.

Employer branding has a huge positive impact on an organisation’s profile, attractiveness and strength. The book “Sustainable Employer Branding” explains clearly and specifically what type of organisational policies and employer practices must exist in order for an employer to create a good workplace for their employees and to ensure that the right people seek out and stay within the organisation. The employees may not be true to the company forever, but they can be an asset for an organisation in the long run provided that there is a strategy for alumni relations. Alumni are ambassadors for the organisation and its brand and values, even after they stopped working there.

“Sustainable Employer Branding has a clear hands-on perspective, it is not at all about models and explanations, but gives readers practical tips,” says Anna Dyhre. “HR professionals can give the book to marketing managers and use it as a tool to get them to understand their important role in the process of employer branding,” emphasises Dyhre.
